Love that church interacting with the clouds, I'm starting to yearn for a Sigma Art.

Here's a crop of an FA100 Macro shot:

Felt insecure about my K-1 tracking (actually bored looking for Whales on my beach walk this morning)....so somebodies dog was running along the beach...... no thinking on my part...... user setting 3 (my BIF starting point)..... 20 shots (buffer seemed to slow for the last 3 or so...... all in focus (I reckon) DFA 150-450 lens..... click image to go to flicker to see the 20....ho hum....

heres a 1/9th crop (4k pixels) of one shot....... clearly this Dog is a professional....

I think someone needs to do a comprehensive "How to setup and use my Pentax for Auto Focus, including tracking moving stuff" guide or video ...... whilst not wishing to compare brands, I can't help but think 85% of "reasonable" people experiencing some focus and focus tracking issues with their Pentax just need some help.

I reckon, given your excellent results, that hearing how you have setup your Pentax, would be a good start

Cheers,
Terry

Milky Way: K1 astrotracer test

Finally found some dark sky in New Jersey and tested the astrotracer function of K1. So far, it looks good.

Problem with puting something forward on a subject like that is that it's like submitting a technical paper for peer review..... too scary unless one has done ones homework competently......

Anyway, my starting point for BIF is mostly the same that has been discussed here before.... centre 9 points (Expanded Area S), med hold...back AF button for focus....still working on when I might want a shorter hold period.... probally when somethings moving faster/wider aperture....etc etc..... I keep the 9 points on the dog.

Cut it out Micromacro, don't you know that you cannot use a K-1 to take a picture of a man coming toward you on a bike?

Low light K-1 DFA 24-70 3200ISO

New example of what the K-1 + DFA 24-70 @3200 ISO can deliver with different lights, moving subjects and no flash.
The colors are accurate, the highlights and shadows are great.
Fast processing in lightroom.

In the second picture, the dog appears to be what was once called a "lens louse" = someone who cannot resist posing for the camera.
