Beautiful work, everyone! I check this thread every day for inspiration and to just "wow" at the photos you are posting!!

Here are a couple I got of last night's sunset at Mountain Run Lake in Culpeper, Virginia.

First one taken with the Rokinon 14/2.8. Second one with the D FA 28-105, a few minutes later after it had started sprinkling.

Some lessons learned -- ALWAYS take your tripod! I didn't and my photos could have been so much better if I had. Also, and I can't believe I did this - I didn't turn my camera of when changing between the Samyang 135 and Rokinon 14. So, I wasn't prompted for focal length. The exif is wrong and more importantly the shake reduction was messed up because the K-1 thought I had a 135mm lens on instead of a 14. Lots of my photos turned out blurry because of this. I felt like an idiot when I realized this too late!

Cross posted from the Pentax Lenses on FF Club.

K1+K28/3.5

This may well be the best 28mm for stopped down infinity focused shooting.

Composition adjustment used to shift the composition to show off a bit more of the scene below.

Went for a wander through Scotts Creek today ( a small bush reserve) ...... a few bird shots.....the last one hasn't been described in any scientific texts.....it locally referred to as the "Thick Tailed Wood Knot".... mostly tree dwelling, but spends it's later years on the ground....all DFA 150-450... all just walk'n shoot hand held stuff.

Excellent little birdie FS! I know you are a fantastic chef and make delightful dishes, but I beg you...please spare that little birdie!

This Jay is suffering in our stifling heat and humidity...it was another mouth-open-to- breathe kind of day here.

Bigma 50-500...Crop Mode.......Just love that Crop Mode!

Tough on the wildlife with this heat...all except the squirrels. As long as they have plenty to eat and some cold beer they can survive anything! We once had a tornado pass through here and they just kept on eating like nothing was going on to concern them.

Regards!

Nice picture but very unfortunate your K1 broke. It's built like a tank. What kind of damage happened?

Cut it out Micromacro, don't you know that you cannot use a K-1 to take a picture of a man coming toward you on a bike?

He was far, and slow.

Very nice pic!

Eeeek! Sorry dude, that is a stinker! I hope you have the ADP policy on the K-1... and yes, as others said, time for a better tripod and/ or use a sand bag or some kind of weight on a center hook when you can (your camera bag or backpack will do).
