While in Kenya, a local Samburu young man took us on a walking tour and taught us how to identify the scat of a variety of mammals, mostly various antelope. I did not take notes so I cannot put proper names to the images I took, but then, those pictures are pretty sh---y

THESE ARE NOT K1 IMAGES, but pertinent to the short discussion above, some of the shitty images I took in Kenya, including our guide's hand showing how to test for something (I took his word on it - hated to risk getting the shutter release gummed up)

To apologize for posting shitty images not taken with a K1 on this thread, here are three genuine K1 images from Utah.

And what did you there ?!

Superb shots Bob !
Thank you Frederic. Here's a squirrel for old Rupert and yes more birds, a wood thrush singing and a phoebe with mixed surroundings. I sorta like the in focus leaves on the left combined with the bokeh around the bird.

Best Regards, Bob

Really feel for this pair of ospreys, they had their nest blown off during a wind storm last month and are still trying to establish a nest somewhere - D FA 150-450mm

Sharp showers all day today, so the 28-105 WR was on duty.

Shot at ca. 90mm - I'm afraid I can't trust 105mm for this kind of heavy crop. Somehow I am more likely to miss the focus, and the lens itself begins to lose sharpness above 70mm IMHO.

OK, my D-FA 100mm Macro would have been ideal. It wasn't there. The flying season for day-flying moths such as this is very short and this is my first-ever capture of a Scarlet TIger.

We have come a long way with kit lenses:

Haha, I think the last one is possibly my favourite shot of the bunch

Looks like you guys had a good night mate, and I think I've met one or two of these gentlemen a few years back...unless they say I owe them money...in which case I've never been to Sydney... honest...
Ha! Yeah it was a good night, hard to drag ourselves away from the table and beverages tbh.

Some really nice night scenes there. I doubt Sidney will put on such a show for M and I when we travel down under in September.
However, the first shot is wonderful. Every face is interesting. What a mugs shot!
Thanks WPRESTO. I took the shot using Face Detection and the Vello Remote control (because IR is just too unreliable I find).

Hit me up when you get here, we would all be looking for an excuse to do another meetup

Not as impressive as jquil's B25 but here's a Life Flight King Air 90 landing at KBIL. With the D FA 150-450. Lots of heat haze today. At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Amazing shots everyone. Sets a high bar for quality.

A few from today. I hiked up a mountain to a burnt area. Surprisingly beautiful. Had some company. Long shots with 150-450, wide shot with Tamron 28-70. I think I'll start packing my 35mm Limited for close macro. K1 II.

A small mountain creek. Lovely spot.

The alpine flowers are coming out.
