Well, the missus and I attended some rather fun dinner theater over the holiday. Very dark venue. The K-1 focused in areas I couldn't even see. I underexposed a little for most of the time to help keep shutter speed up and ISO below 3200. Amazing what you can recover from K-1 RAW!
All pics with either the Tamron 28-75 or 70-200, used ISO from 800 to 3200... 800, with the shadows pushed, I think looks cleaner than 3200? I dunno... maybe I'm just need to learn better PP.
No bicycles weaving towards me, just knights on horses in the dark with a spotlight... easily reproducible CAF lab test, right?
This guy who played the king was a real character. He was really into it. Heh heh.
This was my first real outing with the K-1 in the dark and fast moving subjects. I had to do some searching in the menu's to find the shutter release priority...
I thought the 70-200 did better at focusing quickly than the 28-75... I also think I might need to do a Fine Focus adjustment on the 28-75... haven't got around to it yet. All lenses are just at defaults.
Our Knight to cheer for was the yellow/red outfit in our section. I thought the K-1 CAF did better than I dared expect. Sure, there is some motion blur from slow shutter in the dark room, but the focus seemed to track the subjects just fine as they ran by us.
Is this too many pic's for one post? I've never tried this before... Hmmm... Apologies if this is not appreciated! I don't post often, so I guess I am making up for lost time.
OK, only 3 more...
Last one... really...
That's all folks. Hope somebody out there enjoyed them and didn't take up too much bandwidth.
Later,
Eric
