A beauty she is! Allow me to present a beauty of my own...

Hello K-1!

Just got back from a 2 week road trip through the Pacific Northwest and got to break in my K-1, and of the 5 lenses I took ( fa*24/fa31/43/77/&da*55) the 55 was my most used glass... though the 31&77 had their share too. Pics coming soon!

K 2/28. Still trying to figure out how to post process this lens. This is also the first time I am using the Gallery.

Some landscape stuff, lenses were the DA* 60-250/4 and Sigma 18-35/1.8 both used in FF-mode.

More to come!

Dpreview is correct, the DR of K1 is excellent.
Shot with Sigma 10-20 @10mm APSC mode + ND 3.0, top image is the original shot while the bottom is the processed image, both jpeg, didn't shoot in RAW.

It was dark out there only lit by a small porch light. I was in my office and looked out the window to see the two Raccoon cubs coming for water.
I had the Tamron 70-200 2.8 mounted and fired through the window. Focus lock was instant in the low light....love the K1, and love the fast and sure AF. Some complain, but it is very seldom that I try to shoot speeding bullets, so for me it is wonderful!

1/60 handheld (great SR!) f2.8 70mm @ ISO 12800...works for me! ...oh yeah...it was shot in Crop Mode.....gotta love it!

BTW- If you are shooting a Canon or Nikon with the Tammy 70-200 don't try this at home. The Tammy has no IS so you will need some good SR at 1/60 handheld...and you don't have it...do you?

Regards!

Most amusing bit: audience participation in a Western-style horseshoe pitching contest - - they used U-shaped toilet seats. One guy from the audience threw two out of three ringers across the width of the arena!

Thanks Wpresto! There is, or used to be, an Arabian Nights show in the similar style... never made it to that one, but figured it's a similar deal? I was just reading a post somewhere that Pentax has some form of 3D AF tracking if you use Scene Analyze Auto exposure mode? I was shooting in full Manual... hmmm... I thought it was pretty durn good already, but ya never know what could be improved. I guess I need to go back read my manual, heh heh.

Great shots! #7 is perfect in my eyes. The highlighted knight with the dark backgtound makes a good story.
The diatribing king is also very good (3 or 4?).
David

Thanks David! Very kind. It was a fun night of knights! heh.

Rondec, You are my hero. All those young kids (we raised 4 ourselves) and you can still get all the nice toys. When ours were young, I had to get Ricoh SLR's (Two XRM.s) as they were the best value for the money. Wait a minute, I am sensing a trend that seems to tie in with the look on Eliot's face. Hmmmmmmmmmmm Something is going on here?

Thank you.

I guess I'm lucky in that my wife and I both share photography as something we enjoy doing and she shoots professionally. Most of the money she makes shooting weddings we put back in gear, so it hasn't been terribly expensive to have nice gear. If she didn't make money with the gear, I would probably be making do with a K5 II and a DA 18-135. Well and probably a DA 15 too -- I couldn't do without that lens...
