The baby orangutan at our zoo turned 1 year old today so they threw a part. Here she and mom are looking at the "birthday cake" made of frozen watermelon and other fruits.

Opening a present that contained vegetables.

Looking for dad under a kiddie pool.

+1 on that. Baby animals in general are appealing, but orangs and their youngsters in particular have an almost-human look & behavior that is special.

Thanks! Sometimes you have to stalk them like you are hunting. Inch your way up, sometimes you have to take a circuitous route instead of the direct path, and know when to stop take a shot while you can, then once you've got a keeper, then go for it and inch up into their uncomfortable zone and see if they will stay put long enough to get a nice close shot. If nothing else, you might get a shot of a bird taking off and in flight as he tries to evade you, heh.

Lightning took out my internet last Wednesday, just got it back yesterday. Spent last evening and tonight catching up with viewing all the post. Plenty of terrific photos taken by folks here.
These photos are macro shots taken with the old A 645 120/4.0 macro lens, common burdock. And the burdock bee, full frame then a crop.

OK, same burdock but now shot with the DFA 150-450; 1.4 TC attached. A full frame then a crop 1-1.
