Once again, our friend Pelican Pete is on the hunt, but this set I will dub "The one that got away".

Pete coming in low, with lots of top water action

More from Letchworth State Park.

1) Stone wall built in the mid 1930's by the CCC. (Civilian Conservation Corps).
2) Great place for a picnic.
3) Wolf Creek
4) More CCC work. These retaining walls are over 80 years old and still solid. A testament to both the engineers and the builders.

Great series. The first time I was at Yellowstone I was surprised to see pelicans there. I have also seen them in the ponds/lakes along I94 in North Dakota. Not expecting that so far inland.

Thanks for the kind words. Haven't shot the FA 50, imagine it leans to a more modern, technically accurate, rendition.
The FA50 and FA43 Ltd are of the same vintage, Barondla, they're film era lenses.

The DFA* though would be a different beast.

True, but the scientific paper, by the designer of the 43 and 77, seems to say these lenses were created to render differently than other Pentax lenses. It is a fascinating read on lens design.
Thanks,
barondla

Nuh, the paper was translated by a guy at DPR, I've got it. Hirakawa doesn't even mention other Pentax lenses.
