Cars Materializing


K-1 • FF mode • DFA28-105 @ 63 • ISO100 • f/11 • 0.6s

It took some captures until my idea was caught in the box. If exposure time would be long enough in near distance cars would be nearly invisible. Although at same velocity they would slow down visually and become clear small car dots.

To get an appropriate exposure time I decided to use a PLC filter plus ND1.8 and to get the image sharp from mid to far distance I chose f/11.

The interesting point I discovered in post was that the car "starting" in right lower corner seems to be extremely important for effect of this picture. Other images where cars appear at a forth of the image height I value much weaker.
