I Can Hear It

It's not often I can say that about an image... but this one I can.

Exactly what I was thinking when I saw it

I was going through some old pictures and found this from February when I was testing the Tamron 70-200 2.8 with astrophotography. This is at 200mm, 2.8, 20 seconds with astrotracer and 3200 ISO.

It was super hard to manually focus, and while it is impressive, the Samyang 135mm f2 whoops it even when cropped in to make up more of the difference. I think a little bit of that has to do with the ability to decrease ISO, but most of it is just a testament to how sharp the Samyang is wide open. The Tamron is no slouch, and is all around a more versatile lens anyway, so I encourage you to try this out one night for fun. I have no idea what I'm doing and still ended up with something, so I'm sure you can too

Samyang 135mm at f2, 40 seconds astrotracer, 800 ISO and heavily cropped.

This of course isn't a scientific comparison (different sites, different nights, etc), and I don't think anyone was arguing that the Tamron would beat the Samyang in this regard (the Tamron being an amazing lens in its own right), but I thought I'd throw it out it case anyone was curious like me.

Awesome shot Ken. Sadly no matter how many times I hit the "Like" icon it still only registers one vote.

K1ii and kit lens

and 100 macro wr

Not sure I can put my finger on it, but colors from this camera seem unlike any other I've used in how nuanced they are, including apsc Pentax and Ricoh.

Yes, I love that formation. It's known as The Castles, so you are not alone in your assessment.
