Ouch! That hurts. If that bokeh is typical for the 150-450, I'm going to have to scratch it off my purchase list.
I have had a terrible time with the lens over the weekend. So many blurred shots missed focus so many times. Been taking pics for 20years never had so many rejected shots.

I hate it when that happens. First thing I do is reset the autofocus to center spot focus point. I have my AF button set to cancel autofocus. I'll spot focus on my subject, press the cancel AF button, recompose, then shoot. Seems to help a lot, but worthless if there is 'stuff' moving in the frame.

Or just give up and focus the old fashioned way . . . turn the little ring.

Thank you for the shooting tips, will let you know how I get on.

That is the kind of shot that makes upgrading to the K1 completely worth it for the dynamic range. BTW, earlier, I posted the shot of the bird taken into the sun because I had taken a shot of another bird on almost the same branch with the K3, and was unable to pull much detail from its head (though the silhouette was pretty nice). The K1 did it with just some shadow adjustment in the raw conversion.
That is amazing. I know what that would look like with the K3; a couple seconds then delete. Nice.

Nice shot....but squirrels claim birds "fowl" the air. For me that is better than drunken squirrels puking on my deck.

Regards!

LeRolls

My squirrels loved that last shot...me too! However, they asked if you can better instruct your model to move her arm next time, it is hiding one of the "best parts"?

Thanks!
