Gorgeous scene, fine shot! Peaceful and serene!

Still so hot and humid here...birdies are airing out their little bodies trying to stay cool...

"What;s that irritating noise I hear down there?"

Yep...a damn squirrel chomping away.....no heat, no cold, no rain, no storm, no nothin' can stop a hungry squirrel!

Regards!

Best wishes for a fast and full recovery. He reminds me a lot of our doggie Cocoa, that passed many years ago. A true and trusted family member that I once took off a week of work to stay home with and nurse her back to health...against all odds according to the Vet. It must have been worth the effort, she lived another 7 years of joy. You do your best.....they know it when you do and it does make all the difference.

Yep, that's what I'm talkin' 'bout! Give me a choice...that shot or a thousand lovely blooms to view. You don't even have to guess my choice!

Love it Eaglem! It could be me and Mrs Rupert....we passed the 50 year mark back in April. She saw your shot and said "If you don't get up off your lazy butt and take out the trash, it may just be a photo of me next time with my pistol in my hand and a big smile on my face!"

It is amazing! The K1 just amazes me every day. Some may ask, "Rupert, is all you shoot birds, squirrels, raccoons and such?"

Well, I have two broken feet, bad knees have recently developed too, and I spend a lot of time in my home office with big wrap around windows that face out into the Woods of Otis, where I see nothing but animals all day long. I can walk and do....I get out and go places every day, but my walking is limited and some days are better than others. On top of that...I am just plumb lazy. I spent a lifetime of working hard, mostly outside and it is just so easy to sit here and shoot through my windows in cool comfort while it is 100F + outside. ........and I do love animals, all the animals! When night rolls around I go out occasionally and shoot that family of raccoons that comes around nightly with their babies, and has for over 10 years...every night, without exception, in the heat or on an icy night in the winter...they are here..and so is a good meal for them!

I'll mention again, with the K1 I can go out on a dark night and get fast and accurate focus on the raccoons.... the first time ever for any of my Pentax cameras without using a spotlight to light them up for focusing purposes. This is so wonderful, since Mrs Rupert hates holding a spotlight on them......she does not share my love for the raccoon family.....to say the least!

Yep, old Rupert loves to shoot animals, is lazy...and long winded too! Hope that clarifies why I post so many animal shots!

Just minutes ago....In the shade of the woods I saw him on the Cheater Branch...couldn't resist.....the K1 + Bigma locked on and focused ...instantly....another first for a Pentax/Bigma combination...no hunting, no hesitation, no frustration......just push the button and get your shot! Amazing camera! If you don't have one, get one, you will be as thrilled as I am!

Best Regards!
Rupert

Isn't he handsome! Thank you K1!!!

Great shots everyone! Loved the Cardinals (Rupert), fs999 just great again, Rondec, I think your portraiture is really hitting the mark at the moment, just brilliant. And Noel, that FA43 shot is just to die for. Finally dakight - both just beautiful.

Here's a few from me, using the 24-70mm. The daytime shots (Bibury in the Cotswolds, UK) were marred by crummy weather (very bright and ugly clouds!), so I had to fall back on underexposing / heavy processing. But at least I got something.....It is SO HARD to park at this location, which is always busy with tourists, that I was grateful to get anything!

Thanks for looking everyone!

John

Been to Jasper, but up from the south. Don't think we approached via that road.
