very good guess. actually a tr3 (not tr3a). most people would not pick up on the smaller grill which makes it look like a tr2. very impressed with your car knowledge. you might be one of the few on the planet that knows what MG stands for. thanks lesmor

Thank you for the kind words.

MG stands for Morris Garages. My father taught me that, back in the 1950's when I was a kid.

He had three Austins in a row, from around 1951 to 1955. Our next door neigbours were from Bristol, England and they had a '50's Morris Oxford and my uncle and aunt had a '40's Triumph car, while he attending military officer school in England. My grade 8 science teacher (early 1960's) drove a Triumph TR3. I recall pushing him out of a snowbank. Another uncle and aunt drove a Vanguard and yet another aunt drove a Vauxhall Viva.

Although solidly Canadian, I was surrounded by British cars and British immigrants who were either family or friends, when I was growing up.

right on, bro. learned how to double clutch when i was 17 in an mga. hooked on sportscars ever since. here is me and little p my 2015 lease cayman.
