I'm visiting family in Michigan and although I might typically travel lighter on a trip like this I brought the k-1 and 15-30. I used it on a shoot in Colorado on the way to the airport and didn't want to leave it in the car while I was gone. Also it was fun to take that combo on a walk in the woods where I found a lot of mushrooms! I shot wide open just to see how it looks. I like the bokeh highlights! No CA to speak of either. I like it.

I thought so, mmmm... good! My nana used to make frittata out of squash flowers from our garden, big yellow/orange flowers, dipped in a similar egg batter. Can't remember if from the zucchini or hubbard squash, but man, who knew a flower would taste so good?
My grandma made elderflower dipped into the batter. A delight !

PS - Frederick - I have a family recipe for a diced zucchini stew that would make you smile, PM me if interested, heh heh. I've never written it down, but would for you buddy. :-)
I'm in holiday now, I will pm you next week, is that ok ? So you have time to write it down

When Antiques Roadshow was somewhere in the Old South, they were evaluating a sword that had been found in the attic when the owners first moved into a house years earlier. Turned out it was a Confederate officer's sword that had been made by a particular manufacturer in very small quantities and consequently was a rare item highly valued by Civil War collectors and worth thousands of dollars. The owners said, more or less, "and we've been using it to slice watermelons."

Those are great shots!
Did you just add the right part of the pano once you got a good firework? Looks really nice.

Great color!
It's decent but not great. I got an older one with an i5 and 4gb so it's not a speed demon but it is usable. I didn't want to have a bunch of money tied up in it anyway.
It can even handle raw files from the 645D although it's pretty laggy with those and and K-1 files too. But if I'm killing time in an airport it's more than adequate.

Thanks for the compliments.

Biggest thing that I did was to lighten the foreground and bump contrast a little bit using Color Efex Pro. The clouds were pretty amazing and that always seems to help sunset photos. This is the view from my front porch, so I tend to run out and grab a shot when the sunset is best.

So very minor adjustments.
I do the same from my terrace (plenty of pics that look all the same, haha!), but colors like those are quite fantastic!

The bird easily wins this set FS! Be kind to him!

....I'll see about getting some okra to you.

Don't know if I've seen it mentioned, but it has always been hard to get focus in a crowded scene with my previous bodies...lots of hunting before you can get the subject in focus. No longer a problem with my K1...center point and it locks instantly!

Old guy
