FA*85/1.4 at 1.4 gives DOF that is way to shallow for a shot such as this one... but how could I not love this lens!

Y'all like astrophotography? Shot some last night under a new moon and relatively clear skies. I still have loads of kinks to work out (and some stuff I didn't identify as problems in the field). Shot with the Rokinon 14mm at f/2.8. Didn't realize the corners were trailing until I got it home; I cropped a bit in but the extreme corners are still issues.
Wonderful shot. It may not be trailing in the corners bUT coma distortion stretching out the points of lights at the extreme edges of the photo?

Just wow!

I'm not a usual "poster" here, though I've been a regular visitor/reader for many years. These pics forced me to comment.

I'll order my K-! soon... Can't wait to put my 'FA's and 'A's to (better) use. I'll have to use them on the K-3 for now... I know: first world problems...

Congratulation to your decision. I simply love this camera.

Beautiful shots!

On APS-C, I've found the FA43 to consistently amaze me. A remarkable lens, and I'll definitely continue using it this way.

At the same time, it's incredible to see what the FA43 is doing in its native, full-frame FOV - seriously, wow!
Thanks! I did not use the FA ltd. lenses so much on APS-C, but that's gonna change now (with K-1).

FA43

A rare outing for the Auto-Takumar 35/2.3.
A bit harder to get the focus on this one.
Fun in the sun though.

Very nice! Thanks for sharing! (And I added you on Flickr.)

The Skin Tone 2 is more than I like, personally, but I suspect the girls will like it very much. (Still, I won't be using it, haha).
Added you back on Flickr, nice series of shots u have also...

I like the 2nd best...lovely shots! Sure wish I had the K1 when I had my little downtown studio! It would have been superb with my 43Ltd.

I am enjoying the shots here! My K1 is scheduled to arrive sometime today. Can you guys help me get jump started?

Question: How do you shoot in the crop mode? Is there some setting you use...how do you go about it? I have some FF lenses but also want to shoot in the crop mode for smaller files at times.

Best Regards & Congratulations to all the happy Pentax FF shooters here!
Thanks Rupert...
There's a fast way to change the crop setting. The new function dial and setting come into action here. Turn the function dial to crop, setting dial to change FF, APSC or auto.
Shortcut like wifi, Grid, SR, Crop and HDR are quite useful for me here.

Found a slight defect with DA 40 XS in FF mode, check out the corners here at f/5.6. Not a big deal to me.

I'm officially keeping a TC stuck on my DA* 50-135 now, specifically the Vivitar 2x Macro Focusing Converter. Any good quality TC will work (except the DA 1.4x?), maybe I'll switch to an auto-focus one sometime.

Here's one from an M42 mount Chinon MC 135mm f/2.8, wide open

Pentax-A 20mm f/2.8

Finally, an anaglyph 3D portrait, made with Pentax-A 50mm f/1.7 and SKF-1 Beam Splitter

Thank you! I have been concerned about that but it seems very easy...can't wait to get mine and give it a workout!

Regards!
