oh yes, that isn't real ice. To get ice perfectly clear you have to boil distilled water to remove solute gasses, then let it cool to room temp, fill an ice tray which is placed in a small esky*, then you put it in the freezer. You have to freeze the water slowly from the bottom up...or you can do what I did and get some quartz whisky stones
- which look just as good, won't melt under high powered modelling lights...but unlike real ice, these have all the buoyancy of lead.
