I like how soft the light is in this photo, it really brings out their freckles. Can you talk about what kind of lighting you used here?

Pretty good on the K1.

This picture was taken thru a window, it was not possible to open any of them for security reason.

Thanks! It's very simple setup.
I have my Metz 58 AF-2 in a shoot-through umbrella just above and to the left of the frame. It's in pretty close pointing down from above and the power is at 1/8 on the flash. Then I have a silver reflector just below and to the right of the frame, also in pretty close, angled to fill in the shadows.
For the background that's just a white muslin sheet with an old AF200T flash pointed at it behind the model to just blow it out. I used an old LumiQuest reflector on that to keep the light from coming directly up behind him.

The yellow leaves with reflections (#3) is definitely an image I wish I had taken.

Here's what it looks like. Not much to it!

Edit: Hmm not sure why it's sideways but this should give you the general idea anyway.

Thanks! That's a fancy looking reflector holder (fancier than tape, anyway).

Pentax K-1 Sigma 100-300mm f/4 APO EX DG @ 135mm 1/200th f/5.6 ISO100

The Sigma 100-300mm f/4 has been quite a workhorse on the K-1 for me. It only needs to be stopped down to f/5.6 at 300mm to keep the IQ at a consistent level, in the 100-240mm range IQ is excellent at any aperture. It is a good general purpose lens to work with, AF for a screwdrive lens is very fast. The lens hood on mine is getting a bit floppy though.

It is sometimes possible to snug up a bayonet-mount hood by putting a spot of super glue or epoxy on the little nub or boss on the hood that locks it in place.
