Pondering the old K-1 or K3 with DFA 150-450 (at 450 and f8) for birding question at the moment.... so playing with high ISO on the K-1
Both processed with Prime Noise reduction in DXO to tiff then run through Piccure.

at iso 3200

at iso 8,000 (no bird...)

Two fantastic shots! I especially the like the bird shot. Great background blur in both shots. Keep up the great work. Second shot is great, and hardly possible to believe ISO 8,000.

K-1 and 50/2.8 macro

K-1 and Pentax-D FA 50mm f 2.8 macro make an excellent pair. The often-noted sharpness of this lens is not wasted on the K-1.

That's a real eye-puzzle. Without the explanation, it would be difficult to guess how the effect was achieved. But a suspicion on my part: you did not anticipate it would turn out that way.

Southern Utah again.

I like that Winter scene...nice doggie too!
I had a doggie about that size years back and we went out on the lake one year when it froze over. She freaked out and laid down and wouldn't get up.....I had to drag her off the ice!

@Eaglem- Love the paper wasp shot...excellent! Same for the little Dolly fly!

No ice here......it was 82F yesterday and looks great for the weekend too! Crazy Texas weather!
Regards!

Are u kidding Eric, I love your work, especially with the 300 F4, that black gator looks so real , you are a one man promo for that lens :-)

Sharp Sharp eaglem

wpresto, love your shots, I can only wonder if you shot them during sunrise/ sunset they would be even more amazing...

Mattb123... always a pleasure watching your work... were the dog's feet cold :-)

Bladerunner... now thats a k1 worthy shot

noelpolar... great timing , never saw lights like that... alien invasion perhaps? :-P

Thanks you fs999, love your work too.. heres another fogger!

Thanks Matt! The comments mean a lot coming from you guys. Don't mind me... that little voice of self doubt in my head gets a little loud at times and I have to tell it to shut up.

The DA300 is almost like cheating. If you guys knew how small some of those crops are that I've been posting, you'd prolly think I was lying, but some are darn near pixel peeping 100%!!! When I can use the whole frame, the thing is scary good. Most of the time I plan to crop for composition, and that's fine, but other times (Yes Normhead, keep pleading the 5th) I really need a 600mm, or the reach and pixel density of a K3, but so far, the K-1 clean raw @iso100 has saved my bacon over and over.

Another great fogger! Cloud city is where it's at. I don't know how much PP you do to these, but they look very clean, and the lighting is very pleasing.
