Not an image that shows off the K1 particularly. This petroglyph is obviously interpreted as a rising or setting sun.

The arrow in the 6th line could symbolize...midday.

I find a better af (due to the K1), than with my K3

And with a little patience :
We hear so much bashing about those cheap superzoom, so i was really wondering. And your pictures are really good, so i think you have quite well understood how to get the best of the lens ! Colors and details are really nice. Great job.

FYI: A good friend who lead us to this and some other petroglyphs commented that their meaning is for the most part unknown. Interviews with descendants of the Ancestral Pueblo (Anasazi) people, that is the Navajo and Hopi, will commonly provide multiple interpretations of a single ancient petroglyph. It isn't clear what connection exists between modern interpretations and the ancient "graffiti," whether the meaning of a symbol has changed or evolved, and whether it has evolved in different ways among different descendants of the Ancestral Pueblo peoples. Some of the Ancestral Pueblo petroglyphs seem to show hunters and their prey. Were these made to commemorate a successful hunt, memorialize a great hunter, to magically bring success in the next hunt, to record "this is a good place to hunt," or some combination of these? What the descendants think at least 800 years later may or may not be what the artist was thinking.

Very true for sure. I think much of archeological science is best guess. Interesting still. Thanks for sharing.

OK, that is a great shot of an amazing creature! It's uniqueness helps the shot, for sure, but it's also technically very well done. Wow.

Frederick, I don't know your relationship with this girl, but that look sure has me thinking that she is thinking naughty thoughts about you... or she is just a very, very good model, either way great modeling shot!

I was going to say, wow, this lens doesn't vignette on FF at all wide open, but then I looked, and it's far from wide open... still, cool shot.
(Does it V wide open? I hear it's pretty much FF read?)

That is an excellent capture of a hummingbird moth. I tried to get a good image of one back in the film era and know very well how difficult it is to keep one of those quick-moving insects properly framed.
