Stunning! Thank you for the insight into the processing. Just a fantastic shot, and a great advert for the K-1 and 28-105mm!

I was in Crested Butte but couldn't see the moon last night. It's been snowing for about two weeks with the storm total around 100" now and still coming.

Great shot! I wonder if shakes or atmospheric haze was more of an issue, you can see the ripples in front of the moon a little, but who cares, it lets you know it's real, not some composite fakery. I like!
Eric
Thank you Eric! You are right about atmospheric haze, the moon image is affected a lot from the ground haze as it is so low on the horizon but this is a single frame shot which only minor PP mainly denoise, so it is unavoidable.

Thank you my friend I'm glad you like it!

This thread is full of wonderful images of all kind and a great inspiration for the other photographers! I admire so many pictures that if someone (like I do) is not checking back frequently, you have to write down a whole page of comments and congratulations afterwards. I have to thank those who take the time to do that, you deserve double congratulations! I'm still just hitting the like button

Keep up feeding us with great K-1 samples everyone, it's really entertaining!

Ha! Isn't that the truth?! And the challenge today! Take a great capture and everyone thinks you "made a great Photoshop"! UGH.

I never open Photoshop. I have it as part of my Adobe Photographers CC subscription but as a matter of principle (so far), I want to be able to say, "Never touch the stuff."

Color me old school.

Seems to be more of these D FA Macro 100 WR shots...

Rabbit ears blossoms... I thought that was a cute name for the single blossom, but the multiple flowers always sorta arrange themselves into a bird/swan like creature if you ask me... a bird with big ears mind you... hah.

Did you ever wonder what the real difference between a butterfly and a moth was? I did, so I looked it up. They say a moth is most easily recognized by the fuzzy antennae, but, then goes on to list a surprisingly long list of differences.
A good read if you get bored.

What is the difference between a butterfly and a moth? (Everyday Mysteries: Fun Science Facts from the Library of Congress)

Sorry, another butterfly if anyone is getting tired of these, let me know. It is a break from my waterfowl at least.

That softbox keeps looking better and better. Nice set Frederick.

Hey everyone, here's one of my first images from my K-1. I'm still getting to know the camera presently and I'm sure there are still some finer points to learn. For now I'm shooting with the FA 28 AL and FA 50 f/1.4. I'm planning on eventually getting the FA31 and FA77 as my main two lenses.

Anyways, here's one from the other evening with the FA 50 f/1.4

Hazy Beach

Yesterday, I spent part of the afternoon with my K-1/DFA 28-105 photographing on Quintana Beach, a small barrier island here in SE Texas. The winter here has been exceptionally warm even for an area that generally experiences moderate winters as a matter of course. As a result, the beach area had a hazy cast, as indicated in the photo below.
