Did they leave smudges on your front lens?

That picture rocks, excellent use of the spotlights. Makes that lens move up even higher on my list.

I've been using my K1 almost on a daily basis in 2017

And it's not only a super capable camera, it's something you WANT to play with, there is some special feeling handling and operating this gear, even more than my trusted K5 and K3's.
I've had the occasion to show the K1 to Canon user's I met during a walkaround, and honestly they were really curious about the Pentax FF, they heard about it but never met someone owning one.
They took some time to operate the camera and the first impression was : this is solid ! At the time I had the Pentax 70-200mm attached so they were even more impressed. This cats are pretty good BIF shooters, tried my camera with my BIF user mode and started shooting birds right away...9 selective AF points, Back Button AF and here it goes...they shooted for about 15 mins, they couldnt let the camera back to me lol. The only complain was how heavy this combo was and the not so snappy AF compare to their gears.
To make a long story short, it was a nice surprise to them the achievement in Pentax FF and 70-200mm...and when I told them the price new they couldnt believe it. Oneof the guy was shooting Pentax in film days and still got some lenses, so he was really interrested in buying the K1, our encounter might have sell the deal !

On another subject, recent shots with Pentax 24-70mm f/2,8. Note the nice starburst @/f11 in one of the indoor pics.

I'm like a little boy, I love people telling me stories, thank you for sharing... Did you have the grip on? Would you get any royalties about the sale?

Has been eyeing on this FA77 F.18 Ltd lens for a long time, it's not that no one selling, but the price is out of my budget, this time I finally got it at a good price.

Test shot @wide open.

Been getting a lot of mail asking "where are your little Spanish doves lately?" Is it true you froze them and shipped them to FS for his gourmet meals???
Absolutely not!

Squirrels have been hogging the Cheater Branches to be there when that magical sap appears.....and the poor little birdies can't land.

Get off there so the birdies can rest, you greedy sap sucking rodent!

See! Alive and well!

I had the grip, I always have in fact and especially with the Heavyweight Champion 70-200mm it makes a nice balance.

A little bit more story here :
As I said the guys I met are real into BIF and nature shooting, some of them are retired pro shooters from around Paris, and I used to meet them quiet often a couple years ago. They like to shoot around the lake where I live.
At the time we spent some time together, I was using the K3, brand new, with mainly my sigma 70-200mm and some landscapes lenses, to be honest they were never really interested in trying any of my gear. They all knew about Pentax stuff, they all owned some Pentax cameras back in the days but they simply were not interested by anything beside Canon or Nikon. Most of them double FF and APSC format when hiking by the way.

So last time we met, I was really stunned that they not only wanted to try my stuff but also asked questions about K1 and kept shooting for a long time. They told me that they heard about this K1 being pretty good but didnt realised it was that good built and the 70-200mm impressed them as well.
After trying the K1 the next question would be what lenses do Pentax has on the long reach ? I talked about the 150-450 and they were really convinced by the 70-200mm, but for them it's too few choices, no Tamron 150-600mm ? Where are the Sigma's ? etc.

On the other hand I tried the 7Dmk2 with Tamron 150-600mm...Wow...that's in another league for action shooting let's be honest, and that AF is sooo snappy it makes me dream about the day Pentax will have an AF equivalent offer...on this day they will probably kill the market lol
This Canon-Tamron combo was super light by the way, impressed!
