I can't see it, but as I am fond of vintage electronics, is that the Technics SU-V6 Amplifier?

Every day I come to this forum to check out the great and varied talent here.

Mine not so much, but thought some might be interested in seeing "Rain For Rent" on lettuce. I know it's not a very aesthetic shot, but it was one of the first shots with my K-1/28-105 last month and it says a lot about the area I live in. Who would guess that agriculture is king in a place that averages less than three inches of rainfall a year.
Nothing to apologize for in that image. Humans are proud when they "make the deserts bloom." From the point of view of a naturalist, the correct statement is "let's destroy the desert." From the point of view of an evolutionary biologist: "temporarily."

Got in the Tammy 17-50 2.8 last night. Works fine in Crop Mode, which suits me just fine.Seems to be a decent lens and it was dirt cheap! Pretty sharp and fast to focus.

I don't do much wide stuff, but it will be handy if I do.

Another few... getting near the end of this batch... the next batch is going to be a fun series of mother/son portraits, but not of what you might initially think, heh.

I keep hearing that the F*300mm is a better lens optically, but I don't know... here are a couple (1st and 3rd) wide open and cropped a little, they seem ok to me? The F*300mm probably gains a little of it's following because you don't have to worry about SDM failure, and it starts at F4.5, so maybe a hair sharper wide open? Beats me... so far so good on this one, but if it goes bad, I guess it'll be off to Uncle Vanya for the retrofit to screw drive. For now, I'm going to try not to worry about it and am enjoying using it immensely.

It actually contains some - to me - very aesthetic elements, which immediately caught my eye, just a little too much around them. The temporal-special pattern of the sprinkler in the foreground is great. But the very graphic nature of the central part of the image above it is stunning. Excellent choice of exposure time. I'd use a very tight crop (no sky, no foreground sprinkler), darken the shadows further so that the mountains form a very dark textured background and carefully adjust the tones around the spray to keep that delicate haze. Would be a good one to show in the Telephoto Landscapes thread.

Shot with Sigma 10-20 @FF mode, after cropped and removed vignetted area, resolution is 6432x4287, much higher res than shooting at APSC mode (4800x3200)

I put up a new Cheater Branch and got my first shot of a critter on it this morning. I've had it for several days but it had to go through rigid tests by the squirrels to certify it would produce Peanut Tree sap....it passed!

In the middle of the shot there is a tree in the background. I can hang some colorful leaves on it and get some nice bokeh!

I love cheating! I learned it from the squirrels, they are experts at it!

"Yep, I just stole all these sunflower seeds from a birdfeeder...and no one caught me!"

I can't see the exif data for the last shot to confirm my suspicions that you had you aperture set at F2.8 or there abouts to get more light but in doing so you've created a very shallow DOF hence very little being in focus. If you use a tripod for that same shot you could use F16 to F22 increasing the DOF which will have more in focus and by setting the camera function to "Bulb" and using a cable switch keep the shutter open for a second or two you'll get all the light you need. Hope this helps.
Thanks, I will keep that in mind. Those photos are few shots I just took handheld to feel the K-1.
My method for K-x (debug stuff) and K-30 was:
Camera to subject plane angle 45 degree
wide open for the lens
Minimum focus distance with center spot
Tripod, remote (3 sec delay) release

Thanks very much for the thoughts/suggestions Jens. I decided to leave this one as is to give it an overall perspective of this area. I know that a plain cloudless sky is not usually desirable, but it faithfully represents the area I live in as we get very few cloudy days here.

I had already planned another outing to try and find a higher angle of view to suggest more depth, and tightly crop as you suggested.

Love the feedback on this forum.

Nice! Did you need to correct distortion?

No I don't have to correct distortion as my cam was horizontally and vertically straight at that time when taking the shot.
