Almost none of them say that. And I don't think any of them would claim to take over your copyright. If you want your image on their server, then you have to give them permission to make alterations and distribute the images too. For instance, creating a thumbnail for easy browsing means they have to have permission to alter your work. Or if you want to access your images from another computer, they have to have permission to distribute your work. Most people look too closely for the sinister things in these terms and miss the trees for the forest. They didn't get "caught", they just used legal wording that people didn't understand and it scared them.

While that may be the conclusion at the bottom of the article in the link I posted, I don't agree with their conclusions 100%, especially since Google is a huge percentage of what people use, (at least in the Android world) and they are one of the offenders. The article only hit the big names policies, and all I was suggesting that there is a zillion "Me too" cloud storage vendors popping up lately, and you should read the fine print in any contract. It doesn't hurt that I work in the legal industry... so maybe I'm a bit jaded.

Let's get this back on topic, and let the gang get back to posting more glorious K1 images! PM me if you want to discuss further or start a new thread, but I really don't think there is much left to discuss.
Thanks!
Eric

There was enough breeze that I had to use a wider aperture to stop motion and no possibility of refocusing to make an image stack. K1 + 100mm macro (latest).

Tried to do this with pixel shift, but LR CC doesn't seem to support it fully yet. So, here's a regular shot

ISO: 1600
Exposure: 1/2 sec
Aperture: 11.0
Focal Length: 100mm

any problems mounting these lenses? Sigma announced these lenses could cause damage to the mount on the K-1.

Took the K-1 and the Sigma 17-35 and Tamron 28-75 for a walk and came up with these.

Sigma 17-35 @ 17mm, f14, 1/4, iso 160, handheld (leaning on rail)

Sigma 17-35 @ 17mm, f9, 1/200, iso 1000, loving the flippy screen!

Tamron 28-75 50mm f4.5 iso 800

I learned that yesterday, switch in camera to DNG for LR.
Pixel shift seems interesting, but I did not practice well enough yet.

Did you crank up the sharpening amount in LR after you imported the PS Raw? An amount of between 100-150 is what is needed to bring out the pixel shift effect. At least that is how it works on the K-3 II...

I can't even get that far. I made a thread about it here

Some DA*55/1.4 shots, all in FF mode within hood and vignetting isn't any problem. Full EXIFs and bigger photos from here: Ihmiset

This one is pixel shifted - I used F/1.6 and one can clearly see increased detail and IQ! She is my little sister.

My little brother

A bit PP in LR - mainly adjusting exposure and contrast as well sharpening.

Seems like the recommended approach is to process the RAW into a TIFF with the included image capture software, then work the TIFF in LR.

I literally have not had a chance to shoot anything other than plants on the front stoop (busy week!). But I'm loving this thing even with old glass. (SMC FA 28-105 PZ)

Can't speak for the K3 but the K1 is head over heels better AF than the K5IIs and it was pretty decent. This is like no Pentax before, trust me! When the big 'ol slow Bigma is faster than a cat you know something has changed...and it has!
I found the K-3's autofocus to be head and shoulders above the K-5 in more than one aspect, so I'm curious to hear about any change from the K-3 to the K-1. Fortunately the members of this forum are generous in their time devoted to posting their experiences, so the testimonials are already being posted.

Yes ! I can see a small scratch just above the mount on the body. Nothing to worry about since I know the body is going to take a lot more scratches through time. The lens work perfectly and I'm considering keeping it. Nice balance with the body, feel solid and produce amazing shots !
