Hi everyone,
after observing all the photos and post in this forum i decided to join in the fun. I'm a proud owner of the k-1 and i'd like to post some of the photos here.
Why not eh? im also new to the forum so bare with me untill ive got these photos posted the right way!

Welcome aboard and you're off to a grand start with your very first post, better by a wide margin than my first, but don't go looking for that, I've long since deleted it. It takes a while to track down threads that suit your photographic interests, but if you have not found them yet, you might look for "Thematc: WILDLIFE" and "The 300mm plus lens Club discuss your long lenses," which actually contains more posted images than discussion.

I saw lots of amazing images and a lot of doves and squirrels over the past year. So here are my 2 cents.

Baboon family. Taken in the Kruger National Park

iso 1600 / 1/1000 / F7.1 with the 150-450 @ 380 mm

White fronted bee eater. taken in Mapungubwe national park, South Africa

Iso 100 / 1/400 / F 5.6 with the 150-450 @ 310 mm

it seems i got it working

What a couple of beautiful shots to begin with. Very well done! And welcome to the forum by the way!

Welcome aboard! You are off to a great start, and don't let those pesky tree and sky vermin skew your view of the forum, we all have fun here in our own way. I have some tree vermin in the queue myself, just haven't got to them yet.

That little baboon w/mom is a great moment, and the colors and bokeh on that bee eater make it stand out.

Looking forward to more from you soon,
Eric

Beautiful girl and great photo LeRolls... Amazing how you work together with these models in very light outfits without it ever seeming vulgar.....
Much appreciated. What I've found is that once these girls are comfortable and they trust you what they really want is to be seen as both beautiful and sexy. It can be a fine line but we try to work together to find the balance.

As promised, today's post features a rather guilty looking party from the squirrel mafia...

"Hey, buddy, are you pointing that thing at me? Fugghetaboutit! "

I even included a B&W for Otis to color in or use as a wanted poster. This is not a straight B&W desaturation, but is a dark blue filter conversion if I remember correctly, and it helped with contrast.

I agree, you look 10 years younger on this shot :-)

Welcome! A fun place here as well as the amazing work posted! Can you clarify that statement just a little...for the squirrels that are questioning it....?
Does that leave out the squirrels.....they could understand the "and" about the doves, they hate them, but handsome squirrels, they are "and"???

We already have a couple of "squirrel haters" here...surely you are not another???

EDIT: Forgot to mention...those are some really nice shots you posted.....you guys that missed them on the last page go back and take a peek!

Regards!

Wow, epic shot! I'd crop some of the splash and a little bit of the right side but keep the aspect ratio and the upper edge. That would make it even sronger imho.

A different image from UTAH. The flower was well off the path (not supposed to go off of it) so this is a significantly deep crop. The focal length indicated on the EXIF is not correct. The image was taken with a 180mm Voigtlander.
