Despite Eaglem Raising the bar pretty high, I bought flowers today

Third image is a super crop from image #2. K1's the Cropper Dream.

I missed my Tamron 90mm Macro but I tried the Pentax HD D-FA* 70-200mm /f2.8 instead.
It turns out fine for a Non Macro Lens.
I also did some Pixel Shifts Pictures but I didnt installed DCU yet, I need to try Rawtherapee, I guess that would be the good occasion.

I was so enjoying #1 #2 and #3....#2 is just spectacular, the colors are wonderful. Then came #4 FS, you just have to learn to get this right! You got close but not close enough. Moon shooting is just not your specialty, and I know you keep trying, but give it up! Stick to the areas where you excel and you will go far....after all, you are really getting the hang of this photography stuff!

Remember, this is what you will see when you get your moons shooting perfected....study it and try harder!
#4

Regards!

I'm trying, but my K-1 is always correcting the exposure I set...

A cross post from today, out about with "HM The Queen" (SMC Pentax 500mm F4.5)
Hi Martin

Looks like they are coming for you

I like the positioning of the birds relative to each other. Nice capture and probably not that easy.

But I am a bit mystified. Is this a "more than 100%" crop ?
The exif tells me it was shot with the K-1 at ISO 2000. How do you achieve ISO 2000 and then if the K-1 can do this why is there such pronounced grain. The K-1 should produce cleaner pictures at this ISO level.

I am not trying to can your image in any way, it is nice but inquiring minds want to know.

Greetings

Aye it's fair crop they were a long way out, even for "HM The Queen" (SMC Pentax 500mm F4.5). I could predict a possible chance of a grouping like this, but closer access was forbidden under various protection legislation.

Try shooting with the lens cap on FS....it could work miracles for your moon shots.

@LeRolls Well, she is lovely and you got some very nice lighting. One of your best!

Received my K1 (purchased slightly used from the PF Marketplace, thank you very much) and after getting the settings the way I wanted them (most of them anyway).

Did some playing around with various FF and APC-C lenses I had, but also received the Sigma Bigma 50-500 and boy it lives up to its name! So used to the comparatively compact DA* 60-250. Wowza.

Here's a couple of test shots with the Bigma too. First is one of my sweet dogs handheld at 500mm. Like the noise reduction on the K1. This says it's at ISO 25600 and I applied no PP NR either...

And this thing was up in the sky. Not sure what it's called. At 500x1.4 TC so 700mm? Was on Tripod and I forgot to turn of the OIS so oops.

So this was my first time holding the K1 and so far, I'm liking it alot.

My Russian 55mm did well, the DA*55 did well, the DA50 (cheapie) seemed to do well too. Oddly the DA 35mm Macro LTD says it's not FF, but APS-C only, but didn't detect too much vignetting with the few quick shots I took. Sigma 70mm was a champ (FF of course).

Also picked up the Tamron 70-200mm 2.8 to replace the 60-250. The Bigma was just a special treat to myself.

If I'd been out to shoot wind-surfers, I'd have fitted the 70-200, but that wasn't what I had on the camera - I had the 77mm. Having no zoom option somewhat limits your compositional options, but that can be good for you - I think that this is a better (or more interesting) picture than the one I'd have taken if I could have zoomed in - more 'different', anyway
