A cross post from today, perhaps Spring is coming at last to the Highlands.

Lower Colorado River petroglyphs & Sunrise

haven't been here in a while. Always nice to see all the very cool pic here. Went out this morning to shoot some little known 800 year old petroglyphs about an hour north of Yuma along the Colorado river. Caught the sunrise on the way.

Everytime I shoot with my K1 I'm really enjoying every bit of it.
There are lots of features I dont use yet, such as Pixel Shift or astrotracer, but I'm learning every aspect I possibly can in my shooting styles.

I've taken the habit to take my camera and the Pentax 24-70mm along, it's a little on the heavy side but what a joy to see the results.
All shots in this serie taken with my workhorse, most used lens since I bought it along with the K1.

Just shot this with the Bigma 50-500 in FF Mode. Very little processing and no cropping. I think the FF shooting Mode is the way to go!

"They told me to watch for squirrels....Hell, they must be blind, the damn rodents are everywhere you look!"

This is so much fun, isn't it! Gotta love the K1 and that great new AF ability! Point, half press, and Boom, you have focus and your shot!

Regards!
Nice shot, but I'm worried about your dove getting hit in the head by that brance that looks like it is coming unscrewed above its head!

Keep lookin'...they could hang up in the branches and fall off any moment. Mountain Oysters! I hear they are very tasty?

Those are neat shots Eric....and the little guy is so cute! I hear they are very smart too.

Regards!
Thanks Rupert! I'll pass... but my neighbors cat seems interested, she goes round round up and down my oaks chasing squirrels, and I end up having to sweep the loose bark off my driveway.

I don't have that lens, but your results speak for themself... keeping in mind, the guy behind the camera has a lot more to do with what comes out the other end.

Ever since got the FA77, hardly use the FA43 Ltd, bokeh wise I prefer FA77

You are giving me FA77 LBA syndrome... dang it. Nice rendering for your portrait.

Frederick, just perfect that second underside leaf, it looks like it could be in Wonka's factory full of raspberry filling

Amazing scenery and great shot irek83. For some reason the formation reminds me of a pirates stash of stacked gold and silver coins.

Thank you, we get a few nice days a month. I have not made any microfocus adjustments yet so that is with the K-1 set to normal.
