I love seeing your work. I did not get EXIF data on this photo. Can you please let me know which lens you used? Thank you.

First two: Life on the edge. Bacterial mat on the edge of Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park.

The third one is why I like to get into the park at 06:00 to beat the 09:00 tour bus crush at the major attractions.

The fourth one is Beehive Geyser near Old Faithful. Or why you should have a daylight or UV filter on you lens when near thermal features. Minerals in the spray will ruin the coatings on your lenses.

The cropability of the K-1 RAW files leaves me staggered. Just when you think, nah, I can't do that, you try it and find that you can!

Eeeeeny meeeeny miiiiny mo, pick a crop you'd like to show?

Tight crop
Pentax K-1 Tamron SP AF 70-200mm F2.8 Di LD [IF] Macro ƒ/5.0 160.0 mm 1/125 iso100

Medium crop
Pentax K-1 Tamron SP AF 70-200mm F2.8 Di LD [IF] Macro ƒ/5.0 160.0 mm 1/125 iso100

Almost full image, but still cropped for framing

Indeed 36mp and no AA filter (comboed with a good lens such as Tamron 70-200) provides a lot of freedom) Love the photo, top crop is stunning.

Those are great shots! Most of what I post are heavy crops. I love to crop!

I like the foreground busted rock (slate?) adds interest and draws the eye towards that dramatic sky. Cool!

Wow... just, wow... the early bird really does get the worm, or bacterial mat... great colors and detail.

Thanks Rupert! I have a younger cardie here that sings my ears off every morning. Not sure if he's singing to his girlfriend or complaining about squirrels, but he sure do sing loud and proud.
