I thought you were gonna stop that? Every squirrel here knew that was an orange just a little out of focus! They did ask...was it on a string that you cloned out?

Here is a story for you FS......about my Big Safari Adventure yesterday...(X-Posted)

You are so welcome, you do superb work, as do so many others in this thread. I thank you all!

I shoot 99% of my shots while sitting in my comfy chair at my office desk and shooting out the windows.

Inspired by another Pentax shooter in a Flickr Forum where I belong, who posted some wonderful baby owls yesterday afternoon, I decided to get outside and see what I could find to shoot "in the wild". I put on my safari hat, safari jacket vest, safari snake boots and having no safari pants, put on some comfortable farm pants.

I got as far as the deck patio table and chairs, my two broken feet not liking this plan, and anyhow, I am just plain lazy. Why go out into the Woods of Otis when I can sit right here and maybe get a few shots? Went back in to get some ice tea, and was all set in a comfy deck chair!

It was hot and humid, and I kept feeling I was getting lighter and lighter....must be the heat? Nope, it was the damn mosquitoes grabbing me from all angles and trying to carry me off to their home base for devouring. Being brave and dedicated, I persisted...for about five minutes.

No wild beasts, no bears or tigers, no exotic birds...not even a damn squirrel or two. This is all I got for my few minutes of safari adventure.....

...and guess what FS? None of them were on a string!

Regards!

Yep, self-stuffed with black oil sunflower seeds. The birds here eat over 100# of them a month. Squirrels eat even more. Good thing too...I ran out of string!

Thanks so much.

@ LeRolls - One of your best here, wonderful shot and such a lovely model. I even loved her dress, gorgeous too! Unfortunately, squirrels did not share my appreciation, for the usual reasons.....not enough skin showing. I try to educate them on natural beauty and the "arts" but it seems hopeless. One crude and rude squirrel commented that he'd love to have a nest like she has on her head......of course, I slapped him silly!

I'd actually like to see you do more portrait type shots, this one is so wonderful!

Regards!
Lucky for me I don't much care for a squirrel's opinion. Thanks BTW.
