first K-1 photos

Ok, finally I am posting some shots from the super fantastic fun K-1. All of this first series are taken with the DFA 24-70.
Typically I shoot underexposed then in PP correct the EV & a slight adjustment to contrast and some crop work.
# 1, Norway Spruce in my front yard
# 2, crop of cone & needles
# 3 Natchez says Hello to Otis & Hubble
# 4 White trillium
# 5 spring crop of oats
# 6 bug in an apple blossom
Sorry Rupert but I have not figured out how to put the text right with the attachment yet. But I did at least list the numbers of the photos. I am new, give me time & I will get there.
Best Regards,
Bob

Another round of shots on the new K-1

First shot is of Natchez hunting for birds, DFA 24-70
Third is a Mountain Bluet ( centaurea mantana )
Fourth a back yard shot
Fifth fern on the stone wall
Then a bumble bee hanging on the bottom of a blueberry blossom
I am going to attempt to upload photos to my album, then insert them from there the next time that I post.
One thing I would like to say is that I totally agree with the folks here that have said many times that the K-1 is fun. In particular I recall Rupert & Erictator commenting on how great it is to use. That shot I took of the Norway Spruce was the second photo I took the morning after I got the camera and I was so happy with that, and I did not even know what I was doing and consider that this is my first DSLR camera. This is by far the most enjoyable photo shooting I have had in many years since back in the old film days, and it is so much quicker & easier. Well, easier except I am not as sharp as I used to be, but I sure do have me a nice camera.
Best Regards.
Bob

Messing around at the park. FA 77 and DFA 100. Not sure why they look much more washed out than when I was editing them in Lightroom; I exported them in sRGB. Any ideas?

Washed out or deep in shadow, those two girls are a delight and riot.

Soft light and nearly shadowless = overcast, day, very low contrast. In Lightroom I would try: 1) pull down the black slider; 2) pull down the luminance on green and maybe yellow (try both); 3) push up the contrast slider a bit.

Evans Lookout, Blackheath, Blue Mountains, NSW.
Taken with my dad's old Tokina 28mm, shooting into direct sunlight without a hood. Bracketed and processed with Efix. Came out ok I think;

We seem to be having a minor run of images showing a rocky overhang or cave. The one below is along the side wall of a large sinkhole in Mammoth Cave NP.
BUT OF INTEREST. I have collected several SFL FF wide to ultra wide lenses and have been meaning to test them in a formal way, the image below being an informal way to compare two of them.

UPPER IMAGE: SMCA 20mm f2.8 on the K1
LOWER IMAGE: Venus 11mm.
Hand held, actually braced on a fence because I was using HDR, so the framing may not be identical (the 11mm image is angled up more, as indicated by the position of the rock slab in the lower right corner). Also, because of HDR + not on a tripod, IQ is not at the max for either lens. Interesting how the 11mm changes which elements of the image predominate (the roof of the cave rather than the jumble of fallen rocks) and also includes much more of the open space to the left.

These remind me of my summer in eastern Tennessee. We once found Puma tracks in one of those overhangs.
