I believe that it is a female painted bunting. The males are quite colorful little critters.
Thank you! Thank you!! I looked it up and you are exactly right. I should have thought of that since I had a male here a couple of days ago....I bet he was out "fooling around" and she came around lookin' for him?

Sure different than the male, but just as lovely in her own way. She was very tiny, much smaller than the male.

Male

Female

I hope they get together and work it out!

Regards! & Thanks again!

Our youngest son dropped off his pig doggie ...for six weeks.......while he and his wife vacation in Europe. Must be nice? Well, he did earn it, after 22 years in the US Army, almost half of them serving in Germany with NATO. Now they travel basically for free and can stay on American bases for almost nothing. Too bad their doggie couldn't go with them! She's a sweetie, but still requires care and attention....and I'm pretty lazy....

Fortunately, she is as lazy as I am!

Piggy...err...Peggy looks like a wonderful dog. Great pix of her...As it happens I also have a 50mm Macro Pentax, F 2.8. You've motivated me to give it a shot with my K-1....next time my daughter and her partner are here with their dog. He's a sled dog from the north. Quite a character he is....

The A50 macro 2.8 is a really super lens. High quality and so smooth to operate. Look forward to others posting some shots with it too!

Erictator & Rupert,
Thank you for the very kind comments. Nice shot of the doggie Rupert.
normhead,
I sure like the spring flower shots, especially the Hobblebush. They used to be common in my area but now they are rare. I received my camera at the end of their bloom but I did get one shot, but not quite as good as yours, I will post it later.
Hattifnatt,
The sunset shots are very nice compositions, I like the reflections.

In the past I suspect that I have hit the like button around a thousand times, but now that I have shown my face so to speak with posting some photos I feel free to make comments. Some might not understand but prior I did not consider myself an actual active member worthy of making remarks concerning so many fantastic shots.
Best Regards,
Bob

We do need more comments, not less. Comments keep this place alive and interesting. Otherwise it would just be another picture gallery.

I like all of those Voice....such a cute little squirrel girlie. Double dillos, now that's a treat!

Mama Raccoon came around early tonight to rob the squirrel feeders.

Shot through Mrs Rupert's bay window (and it needs cleaning!)

eaglem,
love your flower shots, they are always incredible.

Voice,
really like the nature shots, especially the dillos.

normhead,
Here is my only capture of the Hobble bush flower, I will do much better next spring

Rupert,
I only have the Indigo bunting local and I hope to get a good shot of one. Course I could catch one & paint it to look like yours.

Best Regards, Bob
