C'mon someone. Some shots with the DA 16-85 please. I haven't seen anything yet! And post on the Pentax K-1 Laboratory site please; the 16-85 slot is still blank.

How do you submit a photo in the K-1 Lab. Couldn't find a way yet.

Hmm. I'll check the EXIF again.

PS - just read the reply. I thought it looked strange, but I made the logical leap that it was a self-portrait. Wrong.

I thought it might have been a reversed mirror selfie with the DFA24-70 set at 31mm. The EXIF didn't specify the lens, just the focal length. All good

I envy you guys. I do not even have a proper FF lens to begin with. Maybe it is better to unsubscribe on this thread.

Edit: I forgot that the DFA100WR is FF. Still I do not have the money to get the K-1.

I guess my little bacon eating squirrel from yesterday found out that dripping bacon grease is slippery?

I don't know if Jays like bacon, but my guess is they would love it.

Fun days with the K1!

Regards!

Is it just my imagination or do many K1 images have a "look" that's a bit different from any previous Pentax?

I don't think the difference in the appearance of the OOF areas should be a big surprise, but I suspect the colour response of the sensor is different, and perhaps the rendering of the full image circle of the Limited lenses is back to where it was intended to be. For what it's worth, I think many do have a different look, but what I'm surprised about is that I am surprised at all, which I guess is saying much the same as you!

Getting the same depth of field at a higher (and therefore sharper) f-stop might give more "pop" for portrait-type shots.
The extra resolution and colour depth from pixel shift might help for landscapes and product shots.
That is what I think I'm seeing.

Or is it something else you're noticing?

Been testing different lenses on my way into work, early morning commute has some great light. The FA 77/1.8 is a dream with the K-1.

Even more surprising, the EXIF indicates the image was created next September.

You're right. I've noticed it too. I think it renders more "pale" images than I've used to get from my K-5IIs... Surely different.
