I'm glad to see you on your feet and at your keyboard!
Thank you! I am feeling better, at least well enough to shoot few squirrels! With the heat, most of them are in this position on the fence......eating as they relax. Lazy little critters!
Regards!

Still have lots of birdies here too. Maybe I need to shoot more birds and fewer squirrels?

K-1 and Sigma 70 macro
400 ISO, ƒ5.6-ƒ11, AV mode, 1/15s- 1/200s

Cross posted in K-1 images and The Bokeh thread.
Spending some time out in the bugs with my camera. Mosquitos and black flies were squashed a killed producing these images. I know, I'm a lousy Buddhist. Well, I'm not a Buddhist at all, but I think the Dalai Lama is cool. But if i was, I'd be a lousy one.

I was really out for Pixel Shift images, but there was a tiny bit of breeze and these are for the most part delicate flowers.

Focus Stacking Refresher

Wow! Great photos here as always. Love the variety.

Decided to retrain myself with an exercise on focus stacking as it's been a while. Placed a Lantana flower in a small photo tent and used four "Full Spectrum" CFL's to light it. Took me four tries and there are still a few areas not right, but I think it turned out pretty well, except the lighting's a bit boring. Ended up taking 23 shots @ f/11 as I couldn't get things to work at f/8. Used a tripod w/focusing rail. Also used Pixel Shift. Basic processing was done in Lightroom, & stacking was done via Photoshop CC with Photomerge. Need more practice for sure, but there is a ton of detail in the full res. version.

Very nice Norm! It's easy to see you've done this a while and have obviously mastered your style.

Thanks, I don't know if I have the patience to do focus stacking. Maybe a winter project? I quite like the results. Is there ever enough time in the day to try all the things you'd like to try?

I'll give you another pat on the back for that set of images. Thoroughly enjoyed looking through them.

Very nice Erictator. Don't think we have that type of prickly pear here in Arizona, but we do have beaver tail and several others. Where was this taken?
Thanks Dale! That was taken here in Tampa Bay Fl, I don't think it's native, but seems to thrive.

While mad dogs and visitors from Canada went out in the heat of the noonday sun, wiser creatures dozed in flower pots (Hagios Kirikos, Ikaria, Greece).
