Sure, I agree, it's just sometimes we look for something different than the usual take. I was thinking of actually cropping out the pistols and stamens all together and trying it as just the veined backside of the petal with the shadows.

Thanks Bobby, that seems to be the consensus. I dunno... there is still something about the second shot I like, not that it's "better" just, also feels worth doing something with.
