Thank you. Here's one more from a series of photos taken in Ireland (same trees but different framing).

some comparison shots

Patriot, superb shot again
Franc, incredible bird shots with the 150-450 lens, such good IQ with ISO's of 3200 thru 6400, fine work
Eric, WOW, what a mouth and those are really nice teeth
Frederic, all great shots but I really like the first one
Hattifnatt, I agree with Eric's comment, your shots in general have a very nice certain style, sorta like a soft mellow look

In my last post I attempted to make a statement about the reliability of the 100 macro lens. With the bee, 3 shots was all I was able to achieve since they would not stay still & lots of wind. With the green bug 1 shot & it was gone. What I wanted to state is that lens will most likely produce a high percent of keepers. It was a lucky day for me to get the shots.
After I took the shot of the humming bird moth with the 150-450 pounder lens I thought for sure I could do as well with the 24-70 lens. Well here I now post the 2 best shots out of 33 taken with the 24-70. In comparison to the shot taken with the 150-450 @ 310mm, the sharpness & detail are not quite there. Of course the IQ of certain lens does provide an advantage which has been shown quite often in post on this forum.
The first photo is the approach; second is getting fuel
Best Regards, Bob

Thanks Bob! Wow, you are really working those hummer moths, I'm getting a little jealous heh. The 24-70 did a fine job but I get the feeling from your description that carrying the pounder is worth the weight.

Yes, I find the keeper rate from the DFA100wr to be fairly high, but you do have to be deliberate, as the AF is a little slower than a non macro, but only slightly noticable just because the throw is longer with the higher ratio of turns.
