I have to admit that I was expecting loads of solar eclipse shots, or are they posted somewhere else?

If there's a vote, I prefer the wider view taken with the Irix.

Yeah, I'm with him, #2 is awesome! Mostly because it seems a bit better balanced for light level by including more of that gorgeous sky.
#1 is very cool too, but my eye is drawn mostly to the blurred wave in motion and dark areas than the sky. You could probably reframe # 1 enough with the 24-70 to get an eqaually pleasing shot, plus #2 is later timeline and more light, because I have seen similar shots to #2 from the 24-70, only with a narrower field of view. Does any of that make sense? Heh.

Thanks for the comments, yes the IRIX has been a surprise and is a great lighter weight combo for the 24-70. Sadly, my DFA 15-30 hasn't been used since I got the IRIX, even though I have the Wonderpana filter adapter for it, using filters on the IRIX is way more convenient.

Here's a 2 shot pano with the 24-70, which is still my favorite lens

My first try at watching/shooting noctilucent clouds, in the early hours of July 2, was unexpectedly successful, as I was lucky enough to hit the first (and possibly the last) night with a really fine display of the season in our region. Clearly a case of beginner’s luck. K-1, FA 31mm Limited, f/3.5, 1 sec, ISO 800.
