Don't have D-FA15-30, using the old Sigma 10-20 @10mm FF mode, cropped and removed vignetting.

First try of pixelshift using PDCU for tiff then Lr. I'm convinced by the movement correction (MC). You can look at the trees near the river for movement and those on the upper right for still elements. 8s exposure with wind.

How can I still like my K3?

This is so unfair
So far I have been very happy with my K3.
But - seeing all these incredible results that you people achieve with the K1 makes me kind of "sad".
The K1 really outperforms the K3 in image quality, resolution, dynamic range, autofocus and what not else.

Keep posting your pictures and make me "cry" a little more! Well done everyone!

I hope these won't make you cry, they're just regular shots.

DA*55 in ff mode used for all four.

If you get to crying too much, go hunt down some of old Normheads K3 shots and you will quickly realize that the K3 can carry itself very well...in the right hands!

I shoot mostly stills...and in Crop Mode.

You have to be quick to pick up your K1+Bigma and get a Jay shot...they only perch a few seconds before jitterly moving along...

A little show to get this one!

Got all but his tail in time.

Mostly in focus...

This squirrel will pose for as long as it takes......but he said if birds could move their tails, so could he! Claims he doesn't get paid enough to be perfect.

My shot # 800 on my new K1....He said he would be still if I would post this for his girlfriend!

So far it has been enjoyable and fun times with the K1. Amazing camera. I can't wait to get some fast FF glass and see what I can do!

Best Regards!

Does this get you more width than you would get @15mm FF mode and then not having to crop to remove vignetting?

Yes, some people don't realize that you don't have time to study the situation when taking a picture of a bird - you either take a quick picture of the bird or a careful picture of the tree where the bird had perched at some time.

Good work, BTW.
{and I think you've now taken more pictures with your K-1 than I've taken with the K-30 I bought almost a year ago}

Rocky Fire Show 15-30 @ a15mm

No rocks were harmed during the making of this shot. (Neither was the water) :-)

Yep, I've got a lot of good tree pictures over the years!

I'm gonna repeat this in case anyone has missed it...which I doubt, since I have posted it everywhere.

I shoot mostly with the BIgma 50-500, started with the older model and now have the HSM OS model. Both are about the same with IQ and both are sturdy dependable lenses.

For almost 10 years I have struggled with every Pentax body......DS...K10D..K20D...K5...K5IIs...to obtain a fast and accurate AF. So you can understand my amazement when I mounted the Bigma on my new K1 and found it to AF fast and furious, no stalling, no hunting. It took a while for me to believe it...but I did and I do! It has made bird shooting so much easier and more fun. Fewer missed shots by far and confidence that you will get a shot...unless the bird is faster than you are!

I would love to have a fast 500mm, but I need some other FF lenses first and the Bigma will do for now...if you get outside and a little closer it can still deliver good resolution and detail.

Shot outside and up closer

1/200 handheld f6.3 (wide open) @ 410 mm ISO 800.....I suspect a tripod shot at f8 ISO 100 would be even more clear.

The K1 has astounding potential...if you have the glass and the skill, it can deliver beyond your wildest dreams!

Best Regards!

Really appreciative of the increased sensor size. This shot would be impossible with this lens on my K-3 due to the room setup.
