Eric, WOW, totally awesome info & excellent photos.
Frederic, thank you for the additional photo. Think I like that almost as much as the lickers do. Beautiful shot, and the yellow one as well. Pretty door, been a while since opened.
Simon, another blend well done.
teiki arii, very nice Hello shot.
pschlute, Interesting story you told regarding risks. Even a casual stroll thru a farm field can pose some danger. Several weeks ago on a walk about I almost stepped on this bees nest. Never saw it until right next to it & heard the buzzing. Had I tromped on that no doubt I would have been stung 50 times or more. Was home alone that day, no one knew where I was, later reflecting back I wonder if I could have made it roughly 1/2 kilometer to get home. Have been nailed by a dozen bees couple of times when mowing fields, hit a nest & they attack the tractor & me, do not wish to know what might have been while on foot. Even worse, they could have stung my K-1, it might be WR but maybe not BR.
Best Regards, Bob

A few recent efforts with my Single Challenges' lens ... a P. Angénieux 90/1.8 Type P1. This is an Exakta mount lens that has been converted to M42 ... I acquired it this way and maybe need to re-work the threads to get infinity ... a few of the last ones are xposted

Thanks Bob, felt good to have a camera in my hands again.

Bee's, like yellow jacket ground nests can be scary... under the category of funny but true story: I was fishing off the bow of my buddies boat, drifting downriver as I stood on the elevated front cross seat while bait casting, working the shadow line of the trees. I got a little engrossed in what I was doing, as was my bud who had the till, but also also casting... as we drifted I bumped my head into a coconut sized paper wasp nest hanging over the waters edge from a tall bush!!!!!!

I instantly realized my odds were NOT good and I dropped my rod into boat as I dove into the water and stayed under water as I pried wasps from my neck, ears, etc. The buggers did NOT want to let go easy and were really gripped on tight while they delivered their vengeance. I stayed in the cold spring fed water as long as I could stand it while my "friend"? laughed himself silly. My ear swelled shut and I couldn't hear anything for a day in that ear, the rest of me looked like I took a shot to the face with buckshot. After taking several Benadryl, I slept most of the 2hr drive home. That day sucked, as did the next 3 days while I recouped.

So yeah, be careful alone out in the field with ground bee nests! We need the little suckers, and I don't worry too much about getting close and photographing them since I am still of the mind if I leave them alone they will leave me alone. But... mess with the nest and they go nuts, and attack the nearest thing they can find.
