Thanks, Superpowerpinger, that was with the 35mm Sigma, and I like it too ... just shows, you can take landscapes with telephoto lenses and portraits with wide angles.

I believe you used off camera flash.

If not, tell us how you achieved the "medium format leaf shutter" lighting.

Yes, that's right, SPP, mixing it with the ambient, of course, to get that commercial/editorial look.

A Nikon guy and I both used the instructor's gear, which was Canon.

I've never had a problem with my Pentaxes using the lighting equipment of any studio or instructor. And it would be pretty dumb of either to be brand specific, to be honest.

His flash was on a stand with a softbox mounted over it.

some random shots

Frederic, like that second shot the industrial scene with the strange sky.
clackers, that model has exceptionally fine facial features, of course the rest of her is pretty nice too.
Xiaoming, very beautiful scene, very nice shot.
Here are some random shots, the meal is plain old fashion home made chili.
Best Regards, Bob

I keep experimenting with ON1 Raw Software, and I couldnt get the same Export results as Lightroom when using the same settings (jpegs, compression, size etc).
Image is pretty ugly with some weird compression I just noticed after posting it.

NOTE: Turned on edge again. Adam, can't something be done about this on-going problem!
lol, I quite like the 'turned on' effect, stretched my neck good and proper this morning

So I am on the road early in the AM and my K1 on the seat next to me with a 100mm macro attached, I see the garbage truck driving ahead and well you can see the results. I can't believe I was able to get this shot while holding the camera on the steering wheel. The stabilization in camera is awesome. as well as the dynamic range in low light. My next best camera has been the Nikon DF (D4 sensor), but the K1 offers so much more. Glad I took the chance of buying the camera.

The wrong lens listed it was the 50 MM
Fantastic shot, I really like seeing shots taken in scenarios or places that are tricky to manage, it definitely has something about it, it immediately has an appeal on composition alone that trumps and makes forgiveness in other areas (such as sharpness etc). Great job.

I love the picture, but if you tried that stunt over here and the police saw you....serious trouble.
Same here! Ah... the risk of the photographer.

There is an old abandoned hospital near where I live, it is under CCTV, I would love to 'break in' (in essence you just crawl through a hole in the fence), but you will be caught and it's a hefty fine! Photographers dream tho...

Might quite be enjoying the Cokin A113 filter
Looking forward to adapt the lens too Tried it through a toilet roll (nearly the right length haha) and it promises nice softness wide open. The adapter will however be more sophisticated than a toilet paper roll, and I'll try to make it a bit better than the petzval adapter too!

Great photo but be careful catching those photos from inside your car. I almost lost it that way one time.

There is a thread on park benches, so wondering if we could get a thread started on garbage trucks?
