You should do film photography...
I take this as compliment.
Indeed advanced film black & white film processing and printing could be challenging and a very nice experience for me.
As a student I got some basic knowledge of processing black & white about 35 years ago. Advanced theoretical knowledge I have through reading Bruce Barnbaum’s book „The Art of Photography“. Second Edition now on the iPad. If I remember correctly Barnbaum stays using analog B&W processing because of the incredible headroom he gets using b&w film. Whereas he some time ago went over to digital processing for his color work and entitles different reasons.
Never had the time, room and priority to work based on the analog process. But I very much appreciate working with color to black & white conversion digitally. IMO the great dynamic range of the K-1 at different ISO levels supports this greatly. Someone who’d ask me how to do it, I’d recommend Michael Freeman’s easy to read book „The complete guide to black & white digital photography“. This was the starting point of my digital b&w conversion experience.
