Must remember not to take the bullet train on those tracks.
Kidding aside, that's a very well-done B&W, both composition and tones.

Through Truss Bridges

Haven't posted in a while. Mainly because I haven't been out shooting, but I check out the awesome pics here every day.

Really enjoyed AdrianM's pic yesterday of the Through Truss bridge in Utah. His pic inspired me to go out at sunrise this morning to capture some pics of our two historic Through Truss bridges right here in Yuma. And, they're both still in use today. They're built next to the Yuma Territorial Prison, which was built in 1857, and is now a Arizona State Park.

The highway bridge was built in 1914, and was the first highway bridge built across the 1200 mile long Colorado river.

The railroad bridge was built in 1923 and still supports about 50 trains per day.

Thanks so much for sharing your work with this lens. Beautiful. Most people seem to collect this kind of lens and it sits on a shelf... I never see much output. That is a shame from what I have seen from yours. Nice work and tasteful use of the mega bokeh.
Eric

Thanks for your kind words, Eric!

I really do like all those nice photos by everybody I find in this thread: Very different styles, but everything done with a lot of love and dedication.

Another one shot with the Revuenon 55/f1.2 tonight in Reutlingen, Germany

I realized that I'd neglected my A* 200 for too long, so took it out today. Some of the people and other creatures out enjoying the sun today.

You should do film photography...
I take this as compliment. Indeed advanced film black & white film processing and printing could be challenging and a very nice experience for me.

As a student I got some basic knowledge of processing black & white about 35 years ago. Advanced theoretical knowledge I have through reading Bruce Barnbaum’s book „The Art of Photography“. Second Edition now on the iPad. If I remember correctly Barnbaum stays using analog B&W processing because of the incredible headroom he gets using b&w film. Whereas he some time ago went over to digital processing for his color work and entitles different reasons.

Never had the time, room and priority to work based on the analog process. But I very much appreciate working with color to black & white conversion digitally. IMO the great dynamic range of the K-1 at different ISO levels supports this greatly. Someone who’d ask me how to do it, I’d recommend Michael Freeman’s easy to read book „The complete guide to black & white digital photography“. This was the starting point of my digital b&w conversion experience.

Door closed?
