Here are some shots of a new butterfly; a brown skipper & a skipper on an aster. Really astonished with the beauty in the colors & patterns on the butterflies & insects in general.

Thanks Bob! I'll take that as high praise indeed. I still am amazed eaglem gets such great results from OOC Jpg... We have all become spoiled with PS & Raw...
You are doing really well with that DFA 450mm zoom. I see those close up flutterbyes, and keep checking your EXIF to see of you snagged a DFA100WR yet, and always smile when I see you are getting those types of shots with the big zoom. Great work. I have to admit, I enjoy using the Tamron 70-200 F2.8 on those for similar reasons I suspect... because it is silly sharp, lets me focus close and reasonably fast, and the zoom gives me a little more flexibility framing than the macro prime. For ultimate IQ, nothing beats the macro, but sometimes it's better to get the shot at less than ideal IQ than miss it all-together. I saw 1 pic exif at 70mm I think? Is that the manual focus macro you picked up used? Looks like you are warming up to it also.
