Actually, you can simply copy paste the BB code from flickr sharing menu directly in your message, you don't even have to use the hyperlink icon (although it may work both ways!).

An example of what you need to copy paste (I added spaces after some of the "[" otherwise we would just see a picture and not the code generated by flickr ) :
