I was a bit disappointing with FA 43 when I first used it on the K-1... but I guess it can hold its own in the right conditions.

Sunset in Circus Park (with FA 43).

K-1 and DFA 28-105

I did the long drive to Peterborough for a few shots. On the way down, Eels Creek was s bad as I've never seen it, contrasty, shadows, I really need to get back there for fall colours, and be there when the sun first comes up.The sun is too low, and too far to the south.

On the way home I stopped for a shot of the sunset. It was just a pretty sunset, with a hint of an ice pillar.

A few minutes later it was a full bore ice pillar.

Lower Blue Lake, Mount Sneffels Wilderness, San Juan Range, CO, August 2017.

This is a telephoto shot from a ridge several hundred feet above this aqua lake a few miles north of Telluride. This was a bright afternoon and the sun created a vibrant scene and reflection of the clouds in the lake's waters.

Here's one shot at the National Aviary in Pittsburgh last summer. Not bad for a "kit" lens, huh?

Ha, I know that creek well, I've driven by that about a thousand times on the way to my folks cottage. Nice shot!

Very nice. I think my dogs would have something to say too if he made an appearance. Not likely to happen where we live though.

In perfect conditions it could be a totally awesome shot. I'm thinking one day next fall I'll get up at four, drive down and catch it at sunrise, with the fall colours.

Photographer has gone bananas with cold weather and snow

Here are a couple of inside-the-house photos with K-1 and the invincible Pentax-D FA 50mm f 2.8 macro. When I cannot decide which lens to use, I often turn to the D FA 50 macro. In my lens cabinet, there is one line-up of lenses with these four in this order: D FA 50mm, FA 31, FA 77, and FA 43. They have names too, in order: Miss Clarity, Miss Pixie Dust, Miss Magic, and Miss Normal.
