fun with the sun

Eric & Frederic, thank you.
pschlute, very cool More Lumiere.
Here are a couple from today. Sorta like the first shot but favor the second. Curious of which one some of you folks prefer, or perhaps you do not like either which is expected.
Best Regards, Bob

I think I prefer the first one Bob. The glare on the railings on the left provide something extra in that shot. It also does not have the aircraft contrail, which I think detracts from the second.

More Lumiere

Great picture! I really love seeing an image that's been imagined and created rather than just recorded. Question: Is this an alternative idea to "being in the hand of God?" Hope that comment doesn't violate the prohibition against discussing religion on PF. Perhaps the image is just imagining an alien invasion. Or maybe it's a comment on how humans deal with the natural world. It's a delightfully ambiguous photo-statement.

Thanks. It is an art installation that is part of the current London Lumiere festival. It involves a sequence of large projected images of the feet of various members of the Rambert Dance Company displayed on the wall of their building in the South Bank, London.

Portraits of our cousins in a nature studio setting

Experimenting portraiture for adults and children models.
Haven't found a model like the one of LeRolls yet, so in the meantime I've used Japanese Macaques as proxy models (they are quite cheap, a slice of apple makes them happy for the day).
Shot with DFA70-200 on K1 focused on the eye balls. Since it's below 300mm I couldn't post in the long lenses club.

Yes, the DFA70-200 delivers. Actually the second image is cropped 50% and even before size reduction it still is crisp and beautifully toned.

Regarding the Macaques, I've discovered that they are quite social animals, often agitated and arguing against each others.
Fortunately, they have an Alpha male who is highly respected, you can see when he comes to resolve a conflict between members of the group, it is quickly resolved.

And I thought it was all your inspiration and creation. You should have been dishonest - think of the undeserved reputation that could have been yours!

I'm going with number 1, for similar reasons mentioned. Nice winter mood.
