Are you telling us that SR isn't all that good after all?

A car most definitely off the highway.

DA70, FF mode as always.

Thanks, looks like you're having a proper winter yourself And I bet that soup didn't taste too bad after the skiing!

Then again, there can be too much winter, too

Hi DimC,
you should come to where I live. Four days a week, I swim in an outdoor olympic swimming pool, sometimes at 6:30 AM and sometimes at 1:30 PM all the year... It's about 5°C to 7°C these days, but the water is cool up to 28°C...
Anyway, nice pictures of winter in this thread these last days.. Thank you for sharing. Bravo.

I finally got my DA*300 so I've been playing. Here are two I got with the new lens that didn't suck as bad as the others. First Esme, the master of all she surveys and then Winston Douglas (son o' Hamish Douglas d'Squirrel).

FF Mode f4 @ 1/40 ISO 3200

FF Mode f4.5 @ 1/50 ISO 1600

pschlute, thank you for the comment. I almost always under expose then adjust in LR. With the snow scenes lately I have tried to adjust the brightness to what I see. On that shot the sky was a wee bit dark and the snow was not as bright as with some of my other scenes. Actually I made that farm scene a little brighter than it really was. Thank you again for the advice and I must say sometimes it is quite difficult to balance the EV, brightness & white to produce a desired image.
Hattifnatt, thank you for the explanation. It is most rewarding to encounter polite people.
Eric, really liking those falls shots. Very interesting that you mentioned the different season shots since for the past few days I have been working on that with different views & scenes from this past summer. And I am looking at what might be good for the future, and you just gave me one. Thanks
Frederic, more beautiful architecture, love it.
savoche, your winter photos continue to be great.
repaap, that third shot looks much like a pen & ink sketch. Many years ago I would take a B&W photo and redo it in a sketch.
DimC, good photos...bad conditions.
Best Regards, Bob

adjustments

pschlute, I did some small tweaks on the exposure; contrast & highlights and this looks much more appealing to me. Please tell me what you think.
A nice thing about doing your own developing is that you can make a picture appear in what ever way one wishes.
Best Regards, Bob
