Tried out Pixel Shift Resolution a little bit the other day, here are the results. All with Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro, on tripod, taken with remote release.

Weather is not good but here's a pixel shift with motion control on. 24mb jpeg converted from lightroom
With the cyclist and water and clouds, i think it was tricky but turned out well ! It is trully amazing in my opinion, the details on the floor is awesome. This is with the Da 16-45mm @ 21mm, F8 aperture priority.I have set the PS option on the fx1 button so its really easy to turn on and off, that K1 body is just pure joy to use !!

1600 is very clean, it's not a bird, but the squirrel I posted earlier was taken at ISO 6400: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kurt-b/26738814355/in/dateposted-public/

Further, this steak is at ISO 2500, and the broccoli is ISO 1600. Sigma 105mm Macro again.

I briefly played around with some high-iso + pixel shift, but I can't say that I found the results an improvement over high iso on it's own. Low ISO + pixel shift does seem to improve the base ISO performance, but from my very-limited testing, combining 4 very noisy images together doesn't seem to translate into a lower noise output (caveat: I didn't have a tripod, I just laid the camera on a table with a 2sec delay. I can't say whether a very solid tripod would help here, compared to my terrible technique). I'll have a slightly longer play about tomorrow and see if I can get you some sample shots. To be honest though, I'm not too much of a tripod user, so I'm probably the wrong person to comment on this aspect of the camera.

I'm not much of a birder, but it seems to do the job. I slightly lucked out on the robin, and was slightly caught out by it landing so close. I must confess I find the K-3 to be slightly easier at birding (again: I'm not much of a birder, I'm sure people with better technique would do better here!).

For taking multiple photos at high ISO and averaging out the noise, you use one of the multi-exposure modes (single-shot/burst/timer/remote) in the drive menu and set the "Composite Mode" to "Average". The number of shots is customizable too.

I know, but you noticed that pixel shift doesn't do much at high ISO. Multi-exposure mode is your answer for high ISO improvement.
