I have pics with the Tamron 70-200/2.8. I came back yesterday and still haven't download my pics to the PC but I will post samples ASAP

The center performance of the Tamron lens is exceptional (on par or even better than some primes) but in FF you see the sides IQ degrades significantly and there is much distortion!

But that is acceptable for me as It costs less than 1/3 of the price of the new DFA and I usually shoot subjects that are in the center of the frame...

How sad about the K-1 screen. Condolences. Any idea how long before you get a replacement?

Booroomba is still a great place, and yes, K-5 is still a great camera.
Thanks. If Teds can find one in their system that is not spoken for they will swap it. Otherwise they said it could be a few weeks till the next delivery. Bit of a disappointment but these things do happen with electronic devices. I hope this is a very rare problem.

Da50mm 1.8 pictures
Focus is on the left tip of the wood thing iso 200 1/125 F1.8
Fast adjustments on LR

Focus a bit off from the pistils, micro adjusted the Af on this lens after, but it was a bit windy so shallow dept of field is a bit tricky
iso 100 1/2500 F1.8

You can also check for the performance of many DA lenses in this topic: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/54-pentax-lens-articles/31629-da-lenses-f...ts-thread.html

Since nobody reads that topic, or doesn't want to sift through 30 pages, I'll just leave this tidbit here too:

...Regarding the DA 10-17 at 14mm. It has been previously confirmed that the lens covers full-frame at this focal length, but it has another surprise. Look at these two images shot from a stationary tripod, SR off:

The top image is from the Pentax-F Fisheye 17-28mm at 17mm, it's widest setting. This lens is a 180 diagonal fisheye at 17mm, same as the 10-17 is to an APS-C camera at 10mm.
The bottom image comes from the DA 10-17 at 14mm! It has a dramatically larger field of view than the 17-28.

The difference even holds up when both lenses are focused to infinity. Anyone wanting an ultra-wide for their K-1 would do well to hold onto their 10-17.
Good thing i didn't sold my 10-17.

A-28mm 2.8 @ F11, on tripod with pixel shift MC
Wall to wall grey here so not the most inspiring picture but good enough to test lenses

Crops from house near center

Crop from bottom right corner

Same crop but without Pixel Shift

Corners are not bad at all in my opinion !

Thank you! I was impressed how much pixel shift improves sharpness and resolution of old lenses! Along with downscaling you get results you wouldn't expect and surely on par with contemporary lenses with advanced optics. At least they work for my taste

I tried it last night with a few different lenses, I was not impressed. Lenses I tested:
FA*28-70 2.8
DFA100mm WR 2.8
K 200mm 2.5
K 24mm 2.8

I didn't really see anything unless I seriously pixelpeeped. I guess either I did something wrong or I did something wrong...
