Did a quick portrait session today with the K-1 and the 43mm wide open.

Do you have any full size versions? Im interested to see the true IQ on those model shots(which looks really good) but tough to tell with small jpegs.

Took the K-1 to the Cemetery last night for it's baptism under the night sky...(new baby and all)... FA 31

Amazingly, the K-1 lens light was quite useful for seeing the lens aperture on my K lenses. (I had to work fast as I was in a country cemetery by myself.... with only so much courage ....15 minutes worth as it turned out.... a good ceremony is a quick ceremony anyhow...)

Have to admit. These squirrels look great, maybe even better than when captured by the K % II s.

I'm just annoyed that I have to wait until mid June for the next batch to arrive at CRK.

Have you rang around? Dirt Cheap cameras were advertising them.

Yes I rang around but I'm getting a very special deal on the K-1 and FA 31mm Limited combo and i'm saving around $600 on store prices so I suppose the wait to save $600 is worth it. I have the K-3 to use in the meantime.

Thanks! I'm not going to knock the K5IIs a wonderful camera and the best Pentax I ever owned .....until the K1.

As you have probably read me post, the Bigma is now a fast focusing dream on the K1...was never fast or all that accurate before. It is now!

I just shot this and it is almost dark out there, I could barely see her in the viewfinder. The K1 +Bigma locked on instantly and I got the shot. Even more...with the new SR I got it handheld at 1/80!

Mama Raccoon robbing the squirrel feeder.....she comes and cleans out the leftovers every night.

1/80 handheld f7.1 @ 240mm ISO 12,800

Here's another "not a squirrel" just after sundown.
1/125 handheld f6.3 @ 500mm ISO 1600

How I am loving this camera! More keepers, more opportunities in poor light, more everything!

Regards!

Somehow I got a bunch of dust on my sensor, like maybe 20+ spots. Took the rocket blower, then a lens pen brush, and then the rocket blower again to get it clean.
