DA 35mm Ltd. on Pentax K-1 in FF mode

Two examples of the wonderful 35mm ltd. macro in FF mode on the K-1:

1. Flowers, 1/400 F5 ISO 800:

2. Garden, 1/640 F8 ISO 800, vignetting corrected in PP:

For more information on the performance of the 35mm ltd. macro see my post at:

I just love the M20/4.
While lenses get more and more macho, I am relieved that there are such lenses like the M20/4 that are a good small size for my preference of an easier to carry around setup.

Finally got to trying out the other mode dial today.
Once I tried it, I just can't believe how easy this setup is but no one thought out it until Pentax offers it on the K1.

Basically, I can choose a function that I used often and want fast changes and set that on the mode dial, allowing it to be then controlled easily/fast with the 3 scroll wheel.
Eg.
1. Set to EV +/-, then the 3rd scroll wheel becomes a +/- ev compensation selector.
2. Set to Bracketing, then the 3rd scroll wheel becomes a bracketing type selector.
etc
etc

Nice. Is it hand held, or on tripod?

Using WIFI mode to communicate with my Samsung phone to display LiveView on the phone's screen and touchscreen to focus and snap, a good feature if one doesn't have a remote control.
*Note that K1 doesn't support touchscreen focusing but it's available on mobile phone using K1's WIFI mode.

Shot with FA43

Who cannot smile when looking at the photos above? Tired old advice: enjoy every day now. The most delightful children do become adolescents.

No noise reduction, no exposure adjustment, no white balance adjustment, no color adjustment, no clarity or contrast adjustment. Sharpening is set to 60, the default Adobe color profile is applied, and exported it as a JPEG. Single Einstein strobe with 51" soft-silver PLM overhead. Quick test.

Thanks! Same situation here. No K-1 until June. And there were only 5 (!!!) pcs for the whole country in May.

My K-1 and the Rokinon 14mm should be arriving in a day or two and I'll be doing a lot of shots with it to test it out. If there's any particular scenes you want me to try it in just let me know and I'll make sure to add it to my list of shots I want to test it out with!
Have any shots to share of the k1 and 14mm combo? If love to see what they can do.

K-1 with Rokinon 135mm F2.0 photo

Here is a shot I took yesterday with the Rokinon 135mm. I don't know what all the discussion is about with manual focus lenses. I just use the focus indicator and listen for the beep. Works every time. Only single spot focus is available with manual focus lenses. I just focus and re-compose like I normally do with AF lenses. This photo is @ f2.8, 1/1000, ISO 800. The front of the tractor is in focus. The back and the mower are not, although the transition is very smooth with this lense. Please note that the DOF of this lense is paper thin @ f2.8 or less. I shot a mannequin's head yesterday from 4 ft away and her sunglasses were in sharp focus but her face was not!
