aah, nice pic. Oh, man, I am so envious. I have been looking for that lens for 7 years now and have not found one in PK mount. And I won't dare to use Nikon-mount with the multimount adapter :-/

Hey Presto!

That's not a military structure, they are part of the Ocean Baths, a public swimming pool that uses sea water. The round structure is a pumphouse for the water, the wall is the back of a tiered set of seating.

I tend to revisit there as I love the shapes and textures of the place. I've accumulated nearly 40 images of the place on Flickr that should show you a bit more of what the place is about. https://www.flickr.com/photos/25114742@N07/albums/72157667934348806

Believe me, I was looking as long as you and only came across it by chance. Keep looking for it, you never know if someone will decide to sell there's one day. Sorry, I don't mean me.

Nowhere near the excellent drama of Kenspo and Tas. But the K-1 does bugs fine, too. A Bald-faced Hornet next to a honeybee in the dandelion patch. DA*300 + HD1.4 TC in FF mode. Cropped to about 40% of frame in post then down to 1000 on the long side for PF.

Thanks for the info. I'm sure the baths are a blast, and allow many more people to enjoy a dip, but from this view the structure is less than appealing. The multiple tide pools are very nice. It's easy to understand why you go back, as I'm sure the lighting gives myriads of moods.

Took a trip with Sigma 35mm f1.4 and DA* 55mm f1.4 again....
I am absolutely stoned by the amount of PP I'm doing to get these shots, it is close to Zero ! Contrast and colors are amazing and it brings me a big smile when I look at the pictures on the back of my camera...

A few from my first outing with the k-1. Not much of a day for photography, overcast and grey but it was fun none the less.

That path through the trees looks so much like the places we walk the Sheltie here in MessyChewBits, except for the much sparser ground cover, a feature of western woodlands I noticed when I went to college in CA.

Below a "studio" shot of a lily, K1 + 50mm SMCA macro, and a crop of one stamen to demonstrate the IQ.

Love the detail in the stamen crop. It floats above the petals from this angle.

Tried a bit of AF-C in 33 point mode with the DA* 55. Got the shot I wanted in one frame, didn't need to spray & pray.

A 20 f/2.8

DA 10-17 in FF mode at 13mm (accident), the bit of hood in the shot makes for an OK frame in this case.

Rogers Place, the Oilers new home next season. DA 10-17 at 14mm, bottom edge cropped.

Finally, one from Sigma 105mm f/2.8 Macro.

Super Takumar 50mm f1.4, don't remember the aperture, probably around f2-2.8.

K1+M20/4

Again cross posted from the Pentax Lenses on FF lens club.

The M20/4, with its small size, and easy 49mm filter thread has become my go to UWA.

Beautiful shot, and impressive resolution in the focal plane.

In a similar vein, something similar I took in our garden yesterday:
DA*55 again

And a 100% crop:

Strictly speaking though, that is the anther; stamen is the collective term for the anther and the filament on which it stands
