That's true! So many really good photographers in here.

What else makes me happy is that after the official release of the K-1 the threads with photographs and excitement like this are getting longer and longer while the complaints-bugs etc threads seem that are almost non existent! If that is not a Pentax camera, what is it?

There is a glitch/bug thread for the K1, and a few of the reported problems are troublesome.

More Dogs

I need more practice with manual lenses, however I like the 50's as a focal length on the K1, these are taken with the Pentax 50 1.7 A

I'm watching the thread but from what I've seen so far nothing big or to put it in a different way mostly problems that a firmware update can handle. Also firmware updates from third party makers are necessary as expected.

A few shots from yesterday - all photos taken in handheld and in FF-mode, mainly with DA* 60-250/4 but there are some photos within Sigma's 18-35/1.8 as well.

This ^ one is my favorite photo taken with K-1 so far

This one is taken at 1/3s exposure, handheld.
And like always you can find full EXIFs, more and bigger photos from my website: Pentax K-1

Looks great for subject isolation.. but even at f/11ish I'm seeing out of focus spots on landscapes.. which tells me this is going to need to be stopped down even further to get the whole scene sharp. This could be an issue on particular lenses though due to diffraction no? Might have to go f/16 or smaller and then gauge hyperfocal which seems a bit of a stretch on digital (the aperture part).. I've yet to see any full scene sharp landscapes with the K-1, where I've seen gazillions with the Pentax crop bodies..

You are welcome to join up here...everyone is! We have a nice gallery and need more K1 photos in it.....currently it is overloaded with those damn squirrels.
K1 ~ Owners, Groupies, and Wannabes - PentaxForums.com

Nothing spectacular here, except that I would have never even tried for this shot with any previous Pentax....it was dim out there, but the Bigma locked on instantly. Even at ISO 10,000 it beats missing a shot!

I hate missing a shot....even if it is not perfect, I like to have a chance at it. The K1 delivers that chance!

Regards!

The first try with a old SMC PENTAX-M 1:1,7 50 mm and two panagor macro rings (12mm and 20 mm) with many wind. At first it would not work with the k-1. On the panagor rings there was paint, so the camera did not see that there was a lens attached.
