The DA*300 with the 1.4 TC vignettes noticeably on the K-1 in FF mode. Not a problem for me since I just crop it out.
Thank you. Does it vignette enough that it cancels out the extra resolution you get from using the K-1?

Now I'm not missing brick walls or squirrels nearly as much as I used to ...

A rainy day won't stop a Pentaxian

Click on the image when in Flickr and feel the 3D-effect...

@loco - I feel the IQ from the K-1 is so much improved from any Pentax that came before it that any image from it is superior, no matter how much you need to crop. The increased dynamic range and total lack of chroma noise until you hit silly high ISOs means you barely have to touch NR in post. A full frame from a K-1 is 7392x4950 pixels. This bee shot was cropped down to 1000 on the long side for PF and hasn't lost much.

You know, if I had some subjects like that to shoot...I think I could give up the damn squirrels pretty fast!

Got my first K1 Spanish Dove today....

When the big Whitewing landed it startled her and she flipped her wings to steady herself.

Been trying to get an underside wing shot of a Spanish Dove forever!

Looks like this old Jay had a rough day?

Another K1 day of fun!

Regards!

Took my FA 31mm Ltd on its first outing yesterday. I went out to Hollywood and Highland where the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame is to try my hand at street photography.

Hi all,

For those unaware, I had previously acknowledged the error, and thanked those who spotted it (Post #1004).

And once again, thanks to all those who have taken the trouble to type detailed explanations to correct my error. My apologies to anyone who has been misguided by it.
Oh sorry didn't mean to be beating a dead horse there if it was me. This has come up before elsewhere, and often people simply don't want to believe it's true. But it's quite easy to test and see for yourself.

Wish I had a k1 to test it out on myself! :-) Thanks for all your images here.

Matt

A lens does not have less resolution because it is used on full frame.
I was talking about the extra area included by FF at the edges of the image circle only. On some lenses, you're going to see softer corners on FF than APS/C, but not on all.

First photos with the K-1 and new DFA 70-200. Amazing lens, very sharp. ! This is at 2.8, 200mm, 400 iso and handheld. Heavy lens, but well balanced on the K-1.
